London-based Apiar unveils its fifth 3D printed timepiece, the Carbon01 OG, featuring a carbon-fiber PEEK composite outer case and titanium midcase.
London-based watchmaker Apiar has unveiled the Carbon01 OG, its fifth 3D printed timepiece and the first in its new Sports Series. The watch features a carbon-fiber PEEK (CF-PEEK) composite outer case covering a media-blasted titanium core of Grade 23.
Apiar was founded in 2022 by engineers Matt Oosthuizen and Sam White, who recognized metal additive manufacturing's potential for making high-quality timepieces. The startup released its first product, the Invenire, in 2024, followed by the wormhole-inspired ERB, the Gen1.0, and the Gen 1.1.
The Carbon01 OG starts at $1,818 and is designed as a sports watch, more durable, lightweight, and water-resistant than dress watches. The 3D printed outer case made from CF-reinforced PEEK provides the durability boost. The midcase surrounding the dial is also 3D printed from Grade 23 titanium, retaining the distinctive texture of laser powder bed fusion parts.
Other features include a La Joux Perret movement, a sapphire crystal front with anti-reflective coating, and an aluminum dial with a black anodized finish. Apiar also offers an optional additive upgrade with a signature SLS 3D printed nylon watch case, custom strap, and skeletonized titanium buckle for $2,087.
Only available to order until the end of October 2026, the Carbon01 OG is made and assembled in Britain, with the movement sourced from Switzerland, crystals and crowns from Japan, and hands from India.
