Prusa's refreshed enclosed printer lineup keeps prices flat and offers upgrade paths for current machines.
What Changed Under the Hood
Prusa's summer refresh brings the CORE One+ (Gen 2), CORE One L+, and XL+ to market. The updates target two things: cleaner first layers and less waiting around before a print starts.
The CORE One+ (Gen 2) gets a redesigned heatbed mount that warms up and stays flat faster. For PLA, PETG, and any material printed at 85 degrees C or lower, the old "Absorbing heat" step is gone. Higher-temperature materials also start sooner. A snap-on top panel removes without tools for easier maintenance, and the automatic top vent underneath is more reliable.
GT1.5 belts appear across the refreshed lineup. They reduce fine repeating patterns on large smooth surfaces. An integrated nozzle wiper, now standard on all three models, clears loose strands before the first layer goes down. Prusa chose a common consumable design so replacements are easy to find.
XL+ Gets the Biggest Boost
The XL+ keeps its 360 x 360 x 360 mm build volume and multi-toolhead setup. The new 360-degree cooling system borrows from the MK4S and CORE One, improving overhangs, bridges, and small details. A permanently mounted eddy-current Tool Offset Sensor replaces the old removable-pin system and cuts calibration time by about 20 times. High-flow nozzles are now standard, and the enclosure can reach 50 degrees C on printer heat alone, with an optional chamber heater pushing to 60 degrees C.
Upgrade Paths and Pricing
Assembled CORE One+ (Gen 2) and CORE One L+ printers ship immediately. Assembled XL+ units follow later in August. Upgrade kits and individual parts roll out over the following weeks. Prusa kept prices flat despite the new hardware.
Existing owners of the original CORE One, CORE One L, and XL can buy upgrade kits. The company says it will continue firmware updates, PrusaSlicer improvements, and spare parts for older models.
