3devo's new Filament Maker X10 runs unattended for 24 hours, turning powder, pellets, and regrind into precision filament at up to 1.5 kg per hour.
What the FMX10 actually does
3devo's latest machine is built for one task: making filament without constant supervision. The Filament Maker X10 accepts pellets, regrind, and powders — including MJF and SLS waste — and converts them into precision 1.75 mm or 2.85 mm filament inside a closed extrusion loop.
Throughput and tolerances
The company says the X10 produces up to 1.5 kg of filament per hour, roughly five times the output of its earlier Filament Maker TWO. A 3-axis optical sensor at the cooling path exit holds diameter tolerance to plus or minus 30 microns without manual intervention.
Why that matters for recycling
Sintering processes like MJF and SLS leave 50 to 60 percent of powder unused. 3devo says it has recycled more than 2,000 kg of MJF PA12 waste on X10 machines over the past year. The machine also handles high-temperature materials up to 450 degrees Celsius, validated for continuous PEEK runs.
Remote operation
The FMX10 connects via Ethernet for local network monitoring and can optionally be controlled over the internet. 3devo bundles multi-machine management software, so a facility can track several extruders from one dashboard.
Early commercial use
UK supplier Filamentive launched rPA12, a recycled nylon filament made entirely from MJF powder waste and produced on the Filament Maker X10. It is positioned as the first commercially available filament of that type.
Pricing and availability
3devo is quoting pricing on request. The company is running live demonstration sessions and accepts product information requests through its website.
