Dutch company 3devo has launched the Filament Maker X10, a hands-off system built for continuous filament recycling and production at scale.

3devo has introduced the Filament Maker X10, its most capable desktop extrusion system yet. The Dutch company has spent years refining filament makers for labs and small operations. The X10 is a clear shift toward production environments that need consistent output without constant operator attention.

What the X10 does differently

The X10 runs on a more powerful drive system than 3devo's earlier models. That extra torque keeps the screw turning smoothly even when the input material varies in density or moisture. The machine also adds a three-axis optical sensor that tracks filament diameter and ovality in real time. An infrared sensor monitors surface temperature as the filament leaves the extruder.

Together, those sensors give the X10 a feedback loop that older machines lacked. If the material starts to drift, the system corrects itself before a bad spool finishes winding.

Built for recycled and engineering polymers

3devo's core market is material development. Labs, universities, and filament companies use these machines to test new polymers or recycle post-industrial waste. The X10 handles abrasive and chemically aggressive materials that would chew up lesser extruders. Its longer screw improves melt mixing, which matters when you are working with regrind or composite pellets.

The machine runs autonomously for extended periods. A large hopper means fewer refills during a production run. An open API lets users integrate the X10 into larger manufacturing workflows.

Where it fits

The X10 sits above the Filament Maker ONE and TWO in 3devo's lineup. Those smaller machines still suit research and development work. The X10 is built for the step after validation: producing actual inventory.

Pricing and shipping details are available directly from 3devo. The company also offers reseller partnerships and on-site installation support.
