Abby Stamper and Dr. Li Yang receive Guy E. Bourdeau and Randy Stevens Scholarships at AMUG 2026 in Reno.
Next Generation AM Leaders Recognized
The Additive Manufacturing Users Group (AMUG) has awarded its 2026 scholarships to two individuals driving the future of 3D printing—one a student entrepreneur focused on prosthetics, the other an educator pioneering lightweight structure design.
The Guy E. Bourdeau Scholarship, backed by Formnext, went to Abby Stamper, a mechanical engineering student at Boise State University who founded Brown Box Cookie Cutters and completed internships at Western Prosthetics & Orthotics. Her goal: make prosthetics more accessible through personalized 3D printed devices.
The Randy Stevens Scholarship, supported by InTech Industries and GreatAmerica, was awarded to Dr. Li Yang of the University of Louisville. With nearly two decades of research spanning NC State to his current faculty role, Yang focuses on bridging the gap between theoretical lightweight structure design and real-world additive manufacturing.
Both recipients will present their work at AMUG 2026 in Reno, Nevada (March 15–19).
