TRUMPF Additive Manufacturing is now ATLIX, and its TruPrint machines carry a new xBUILD name from September 1.

A Name Change, Not a Machine Overhaul

On September 1, 2026, TRUMPF Additive Manufacturing officially became ATLIX, and every new machine order going forward carries the new name. The TruPrint branding is gone, replaced by the xBUILD moniker across the entire portfolio. The hardware itself has not changed. ATLIX says the four machines remain technically identical to their TruPrint predecessors; only the naming, visual identity, and product architecture have been updated.

The rebrand connects ATLIX's 3D printing systems to a broader xWORLD ecosystem. The company says the 'x' represents the combination of expertise, technology, and application, while 'BUILD' reflects what the machines actually do: enable high-quality, scalable production.

The Four xBUILD Machines

ATLIX's lineup now spans four systems under the xBUILD name. The xBUILD 1000 is a compact metal 3D printing system aimed at premium part quality and high precision. The xBUILD 2000 targets consistent print quality with efficiency and reliability. The xBUILD 3000 adds enhanced performance and full-field multilaser capability for industrial additive manufacturing. The xBUILD 5000 handles large critical parts and high-volume production.

The naming structure gives ATLIX a cleaner story when talking to buyers who may not have previously known TruPrint belonged to TRUMPF. The rebrand also brings a new graphic panel design for the build chamber, which is the most visible change on the machines themselves.

Why the Timing Matters

The rebrand lands right before IMTS in Chicago and ahead of Formnext in November. Those are the two biggest additive manufacturing trade shows of the year, and ATLIX will use both to reintroduce its portfolio under the new name to a global audience.

ATLIX's parent company, TRUMPF, is a major player in industrial lasers and machine tools. The spin-out into ATLIX with a distinct brand identity signals that TRUMPF wants additive manufacturing to be seen as its own business unit, not just a side project from the laser division.

What This Means for Buyers

If you own a TruPrint system, nothing is changing on the service or support side. ATLIX says existing customers stay on the same support path. If you are ordering a new machine after September 1, it will arrive with ATLIX branding and an xBUILD name. The pricing, specifications, and capabilities remain unchanged for now.

The rebrand is a straightforward identity refresh, but it also hints at where ATLIX wants to go: a standalone metal AM brand with a product family that reads clearly from compact to large-format, without the TRUMPF name acting as either a benefit or a burden in the sales conversation.
