Shenzhen-based AxiLoop plans to show the MC8 at Formnext Asia, an eight-spool desktop machine with automatic loading and a 300 mm cube build volume.
Eight Colors, One Machine
Shenzhen-based AxiLoop has teased a new desktop FDM printer called the MC8. The company claims it can run eight colors or materials in a single job, with automatic filament loading and unloading, app control, and a 300 x 300 x 300 mm build volume. It is scheduled to appear at Formnext Asia Shenzhen later this month.
The most eye-catching claim is a 10x reduction in material waste. In multicolor FDM, every color change purges the old filament into a wipe tower or poop bucket. Over a long print, that waste can outweigh the model itself. AxiLoop says the MC8 avoids most of that, though it has not explained how.
Toolheads or Marketing?
The teaser images mention eight toolheads, but the available renders do not clearly show eight full extruder assemblies. A true eight-extruder toolchanger would be bulky and expensive. More likely, AxiLoop is using a waste-free color system similar to Bambu Lab's Vortek, Creality's KliTek, or Prusa's INDX, where separate filaments feed into a single hot end or swap quickly.
Other listed specs include 600 mm/s print speeds and 2500-point bed leveling done in one minute. The latter would be impractical with a simple probe grid, so an optical or advanced sensing approach seems likely.
Who Is AxiLoop?
AxiLoop is a new consumer brand of Shenzhen XIKOE Industrial, a company that makes precision grinding and polishing machinery. It has never shipped a 3D printer before. The firm has 134 employees, 20,000 square meters of factory space, and 125 patents, so it is not a garage startup. Whether that precision manufacturing experience translates into a reliable desktop printer is the open question.
The MC8 will face stiff competition. Bambu Lab, Creality, Prusa, and Sovol are all racing toward multicolor printing with less waste. AxiLoop's advantage, if it has one, will have to show up in real prints at Formnext Asia and beyond.
