Bambu Lab H2D Drops to $1,749 With Laser Upgrade Kit Now Available

Bambu Lab's back-to-school sale runs through August 31, and the company is using the final days to push two things at once: a straight price cut on the H2D and the long-rumored laser upgrade kit for the same machine.

The H2D started at $1,999. During the sale it drops to $1,749, and Bambu Lab is also offering double Bambu Credits on top of that. If you have been waiting for a reason to buy the dual-nozzle multi-material printer, the math just got easier.

What the laser kit actually does

The upgrade kit comes in 10W and 40W flavors. Installation is not trivial, but Bambu Lab published a step-by-step guide that walks you through swapping the toolhead, routing the air-assist tube, and calibrating the camera. The whole process takes a few hours and requires patience more than special tools.

Once installed, the H2D becomes a combined 3D printer and laser cutter. That matters if you work with wood, acrylic, leather, or anodized aluminum. The 10W kit is cheaper and handles lighter materials well. The 40W kit cuts thicker stock faster but costs noticeably more.

Should you buy now or wait

The sale price is the best we have seen on the H2D since launch. Bambu Credits effectively stack with the discount if you plan to buy filament or accessories later. The X1 series is officially end-of-life, so the H2D is now the company's flagship dual-nozzle machine. There is no obvious successor coming in the next few months that would make waiting worthwhile.

The only real caveat is the laser module itself. Early adopters report it works, but the workflow around ventilation and material settings is still maturing. If laser cutting is a nice-to-have rather than a must-have, the plain H2D at $1,749 is already a strong buy. If you know you want both functions, the bundle price during this sale is hard to beat.
