Bambu Lab added a new MakerLab tool to MakerWorld that turns silhouette choices into ready-to-print lamp models in minutes.
Bambu Lab's MakerWorld platform just got a new addition that could sit on your desktop for an afternoon and still feel like time well spent. LumHaus, a MakerLab tool developed by Genform, lets users design custom lamps from simple shape selections, then exports a complete model ready for Bambu Studio.
How it works
LumHaus walks you through a straightforward sequence: pick a silhouette, set the dimensions, apply a texture, add a socket, and export. The tool handles the geometry for spherical, cylindrical, conical, pear-shaped, and free-form profiles. Everything comes out hollow and printable.
A live preview shows the shade and base as you adjust them, so you can see the proportions change in real time. That immediate feedback matters. Design tools that hide the preview until the end tend to produce awkward shapes.
Free and paid tiers
The basic version covers shade design, base design, and export. It generates 3MF files by default and falls back to STL when needed. Three optional one-time unlocks sit on top of the free tier: custom shade profiles, extra socket presets, and a larger texture library. None of them feel like they should have been locked behind a paywall, but the free version is genuinely usable on its own.
Why this fits MakerWorld
MakerWorld already hosts thousands of printable models. LumHaus adds something different: a generator rather than a static file. That means every lamp can be sized for a specific bulb, desk, or aesthetic without downloading ten variants and picking the closest one.
The tool launched quietly within the MakerLab section. If you already have a Bambu Lab printer and a few evenings of free time, it is worth opening. The worst-case scenario is a unique lamp that cost nothing but time.
