Bambu Lab partners with meland to open the first systematic 3D printing education center for children aged 5-12 in Shenzhen, featuring the Cyber Brick City installation.
Bambu Lab has taken a significant step into the education market, partnering with meland — a leading Chinese family entertainment brand — to open China's first 3D Printing Creativity Center for children.
The facility, located at MixC World in Shenzhen, offers a structured educational program for children aged 5-12, with two levels of classes:
- Introductory level: Children learn the basics of how a 3D printer works and complete their first print under instructor guidance
- Exploratory level: Children design their own simple 3D models and print them during class, taking home something they created from idea to finished product
Beyond the Corner Gadget
Unlike the typical "3D printer in the corner" approach seen in many educational settings, the Shenzhen center is designed specifically for children with a coherent curriculum. Bambu Lab provided systematic training for meland staff, ensuring they can lead classes and assist both children and curious parents.
Cyber Brick City Returns
The center also features a new version of Bambu Lab's popular Cyber Brick City installation — originally showcased at their Shenzhen headquarters and Formnext 2025 — reimagined for young visitors. The miniature city features 3D-printed elements inspired by meland playground attractions.
Market Opportunity
The partnership arrives as China's family entertainment market exceeds 100 billion yuan, with 61.4% of parents seeking activities that combine learning with emotional bonding. Both companies indicate this is just the beginning — with potential to scale across meland's 140+ locations in 70+ Chinese cities.
