Creality's new $239 Halot-X1 Neo resin printer packs a 9K display, making fine detail accessible without a premium price.

9K detail at a two-hundred-dollar price

Creality has quietly released one of the most interesting budget resin printers of the year. The Halot-X1 Neo costs $239 and ships with a 9K monochrome LCD that produces an XY resolution of 18 micrometers. That is the same pixel size found on machines costing twice as much, and it means layer lines become almost invisible on small models.

The printer uses stereolithography, curing liquid photosensitive resin with UV light layer by layer. Because the entire layer cures at once instead of tracing paths with a nozzle, print speed does not slow down on solid cross-sections. Creality quotes a maximum speed of 60 mm/h, which is fast for a resin machine in this price bracket.

Compact size, limited build area

The Halot-X1 Neo measures 235.5 x 230 x 395.5 mm, but the actual build volume is 156.36 x 77.76 x 160 mm. That is typical for entry-level resin printers. It is enough for miniatures, jewellery prototypes, and small mechanical parts, but not for full-size cosplay helmets or large architectural models.

Creality does not include air filtration or an AI monitoring camera in the base price. Both are available as add-ons. Connectivity covers Wi-Fi and USB, and the machine works with Creality's software, which now includes an AI-assisted feature for generating printable models from text or images.

Who should buy it

At $239, the Halot-X1 Neo is aimed at hobbyists and small workshops who want resin-level detail without the usual premium. The 9K display sets it apart from older budget resin machines that still use 4K or 6K screens. Users who need filtration should factor in the cost of an extra fan or enclosure.

An EU launch is planned for early October. For anyone curious about resin printing, this is one of the lowest barriers to entry yet.
