Creality SPARKX i7 Nano Puts 4-Color Printing on a $299 Budget

Creality launched the SPARKX i7 Nano, a compact multi-color FDM printer that starts at $299. The machine is essentially a smaller version of the i7 Color Combo from earlier this year, redesigned to fit on tighter desks without sacrificing the ability to print in up to four colors.

The build volume measures 260 x 260 x 255 mm, which is usable for most hobby projects and small batch production. The hotend reaches 300 °C and accepts nozzles from 0.2 mm up to 0.8 mm. Maximum print speed is listed at 500 mm/s. Those specs put it in the same class as other budget CoreXY machines, but the i7 Nano differentiates itself with its filament handling system.

Paired with the CFS nano Kit, a small module that sits on top of the printer, the i7 Nano switches between four filaments automatically. The system uses dual motors: one handles channel switching, the other manages feeding and retraction. Creality says the design avoids the messy disassembly that some multi-material systems require. It also keeps the printer's footprint small by eliminating the external spool holder found on larger models.

For beginners, the printer includes automatic bed leveling, RFID filament reading, and a built-in 720p AI camera that watches for common failures like spaghetti prints and air extrusion. Vibration compensation and dynamic pressure adjustment are meant to keep quality consistent at speed. Creality also includes CubeMe, a feature that converts 2D portraits into multi-color 3D models, which is a novelty but useful for custom gifts.

The SPARKX i7 Nano with the CFS nano Kit costs $299 in the U.S. and €299 in Europe. At that price, it undercuts most four-color capable machines by a wide margin. The catch is that you are buying into Creality's ecosystem, and the company's long-term support track record is mixed. If the hardware holds up, this is the easiest entry point into multi-color desktop printing.
