Elegoo's first dedicated filament dryer reaches 85°C to handle PA, PC, and other engineering materials, priced at $70.

A dedicated dryer at a hobbyist price

Elegoo is selling a lot of filament, but until now it has not sold a filament dryer. That changes with the H1 HT, the company's first standalone filament dryer, priced at $70.

The unit heats up to 85°C, which is high enough to handle the toughest engineering filaments. PLA and PETG recover quickly at lower temperatures, but PA, PC, and other high-temperature materials need more heat to drive moisture out. Most entry-level dryers top out around 55°C or 60°C. The H1 HT's 85°C ceiling puts it in a different class for users who print with PEEK, nylon, or polycarbonate.

What you actually get

The H1 HT is a single-spool box with active air vents and a rotating drum. Elegoo says it dries filament in about four hours, though the exact time depends on the material and how wet it is. The build is compact, roughly the size of a large toaster, and it sits on a desk without dominating the workspace.

Compatibility is broad. It handles 1.75mm and 2.85mm spools, and the rotating design means you do not have to reposition the filament mid-cycle. The 85°C setting is the standout spec, but the lower temperature modes for PLA and PETG are useful too. You can set it and walk away, which is more than can be said for leaving a spool on the dashboard of your car.

Who should buy it

If you only print with PLA in a climate-controlled room, you probably do not need a dryer. If you live somewhere humid, store filament for more than a week, or print with PA, PC, ABS, or TPU, a dryer pays for itself in fewer failed prints and better layer adhesion. At $70, the H1 HT is cheaper than most failed large prints.

The market for filament care has grown fast in the last year. Sunlu, EIBOS, and others already sell dryers in this price range. Elegoo's advantage is distribution and brand trust. If you already own an Elegoo printer, the H1 HT is a straightforward add-on. It is not the most feature-rich dryer on the market, but it is priced so that you do not have to think hard about the purchase decision.
