Elegoo's first filament dryer hits 85C to tackle wet spools, with automatic rotation and 11 presets for $70.

Elegoo has entered the filament-drying market with the H1 HT, a single-spool dryer that reaches 85C and offers 11 preset drying programs. The price is $70, which puts it in the same range as budget dryers from other brands, but the temperature ceiling is higher than most competitors.

What the temperature means

PLA usually dries around 55C, PETG around 65C, and nylon around 75C. The H1 HT's 85C maximum gives headroom for badly stored spools or particularly hygroscopic materials like TPU and PC. Elegoo designed the chamber to rotate the spool automatically during drying, which should give more even heat distribution than a static box. Active dehumidification vents moisture out continuously rather than trapping it inside.

Practical details

The H1 HT is not printer-specific. It works with any standard 1 kg spool, and Elegoo says it handles most filament types. The control panel has 11 presets, so you do not need to guess time or temperature for each material. The rotating mechanism and active venting are the main differentiators from simpler warm-box designs.

Why this matters now

Wet filament is the most common cause of bad prints on machines that otherwise print well. Stringing, popping, weak layer bonding, and surface blemishes all trace back to moisture in the filament. As printers get faster and more automated, the cost of a failed multi-hour print goes up. A dedicated dryer at this price lowers the barrier for makers who have been meaning to fix their storage workflow.

The H1 HT is available now from Elegoo's official store and authorized resellers.
