Elegoo is best known for resin printers and affordable FDM machines. With the H1 HT Filament Dryer, the company is making its first move into filament conditioning. The device is a single-spool box that heats to 85°C, rotates the filament, and actively vents moisture. It is aimed at users who print with technical filaments that demand more aggressive drying than a standard 55°C setup can provide.

Why 85°C Matters

Most entry-level filament dryers top out around 55°C to 60°C. That works for PLA and PETG. Nylon, PVA, and carbon-fiber-reinforced nylons need higher temperatures to drive moisture out of the polymer matrix. The H1 HT's 85°C ceiling puts it in the same league as industrial dryers at a fraction of the size and price.

Elegoo lists 11 preset programs covering PLA, ABS, PETG, TPU, Nylon, PAHT-CF, PVA, and others. Each preset sets temperature, drying duration, and cooldown. The unit also has a custom mode if you want to dial in specific parameters.

Design and Capacity

The H1 HT holds one standard 1 kg spool. The chamber rotates the spool during drying to ensure even heat distribution. Dual active vents pull moist air out continuously. The build is compact: it sits on a desk without taking over a shelf, and the control panel is a simple button-and-display arrangement with no app required.

Rotation is the feature that separates a decent dryer from a mediocre one. Static drying works for small spools, but larger spools develop a moisture gradient if the filament doesn't move. The H1 HT's internal rotation addresses that directly.

That printer's enclosed design and high-temperature capabilities pair naturally with a dryer that can handle PAHT-CF and other exotic materials. Elegoo is essentially closing a loop: the printer can print the materials, and the dryer can prepare them.

Should You Buy It

If you print PLA exclusively, a cheaper basic dryer will do the job. If you work with Nylon, PVA, or any carbon-fiber-reinforced material regularly, the H1 HT is worth the premium over lower-temperature options. The 85°C ceiling and 11 presets cover the filaments that actually need aggressive drying, and the $70 price is fair for that capability.

One caveat: the single-spool design means batch drying multiple materials takes longer. If you switch between several hygroscopic filaments in a single session, you will spend time swapping spools. That is the tradeoff for the compact form factor.
