eSUN reformulated PETG+ for faster cooling and better layer adhesion, targeting desktop printers that push 300 mm/s and beyond.

eSUN has started shipping a reformulated version of PETG called PETG+. The updated material is designed for the higher print speeds that modern desktop printers now routinely reach. Standard PETG can struggle at speeds above 200 mm/s: cooling becomes uneven, layer adhesion drops, and nozzle adhesion problems increase. PETG+ addresses those issues through a modified base formulation without changing the material family.

What Changed

eSUN says the new PETG+ formulation improves three things. Cooling and solidification happen faster after extrusion, which matters when the next layer lands before the previous one has fully set. Nozzle adhesion is better, reducing the risk of under-extrusion mid-print. And overall printability across different desktop machines is more consistent, which is useful for anyone who switches between printers or filaments often.

A dedicated PETG+HS variant is also available. The HS stands for high speed. eSUN recommends PETG+HS at print speeds between 40 mm/s and 300 mm/s, depending on the printer and geometry. That range covers most Bambu Lab, Creality, and other high-speed desktop machines on the market today.

Mechanical Properties

PETG+ keeps the properties that made standard PETG popular. It is tough, water-resistant, and chemically resistant. The material remains suitable for functional prototypes, enclosures, and parts that take repeated impact. eSUN's technical data sheet lists tensile strength around 50 MPa and good interlayer bonding. UV resistance is included as a feature, which extends the material's usefulness for outdoor fixtures and workshop tools.

Is PETG+ Worth Switching To

If you already print PETG successfully at moderate speeds, the upgrade is not urgent. The performance difference shows up most clearly above 200 mm/s, where standard PETG starts showing its limits. If you run a Bambu Lab X1C or a Creality K1 that regularly hits 300 mm/s, PETG+ is a better match for that hardware. The price gap between standard PETG and PETG+ is small, so there is no real penalty for trying the new formulation on your next functional part.

eSUN is transitioning its PETG lineup toward PETG+ across its global distributors. The material is now available through the eSUN official store and authorized resellers in 1.75 mm and 2.85 mm diameters, in standard spool weights.
