ExOne GmbH and voxeljet GmbH completed their legal merger on August 13, 2026, consolidating decades of binder jetting expertise under a single German entity.

Two binder jetting pioneers become one company

ExOne GmbH and voxeljet GmbH are now a single legal entity. The merger became official on August 13, 2026, capping a process that started when Anzu Partners bought both companies separately in 2025.

The combined business will operate as ExOne GmbH under CEO Eric Bader. The voxeljet brand will survive for specific product lines, including PMMA casting-pattern systems and High Speed Sintering polymer products.

What the merger means for customers

Existing contracts, quotes, and NDAs with either ExOne or voxeljet remain valid. Support and spare-parts for installed machines continue without interruption. That matters in binder jetting, where foundries and production shops rely on consistent uptime for capital-intensive equipment.

The combined company brings more than three decades of industrial 3D printing experience in sand and binder jetting. It operates through subsidiaries in Germany, the United States, Japan, China, and India.

The bigger consolidation trend

Private equity and strategic investors are actively rolling up additive manufacturing companies that were standalone public or venture-backed businesses just a few years ago. Anzu Partners' move mirrors similar consolidations across the industry, where shared R&D budgets and unified service networks are becoming competitive necessities.

For makers and small shops, the near-term impact is minimal. The longer-term question is how a combined roadmap will treat the voxeljet PMMA and HSS lines alongside ExOne's sand and metal systems.
