HeyGears G1 Brings Full-Color 3D Printing to the Desktop

What the G1 Series actually does

The HeyGears G1 Series is a desktop machine that prints in full color, produces raised 3D textures, and handles 2D UV printing on flat surfaces. It also supports DTF and DTG fabric printing. Most desktop 3D printers output single-color models that need painting afterward. The G1X deposits color layer by layer using Precision Piezo Inkjet technology with instant UV curing, so the model comes off the bed with the finish already on it.

The key specification is the Epson i3200-U1HD printhead. It has 3,200 nozzles across eight ink channels and can reproduce more than 10 million colors. The extra light cyan and light magenta channels keep skin tones and gradients from looking muddy. UV printing resolution reaches 1,440 x 2,400 DPI, and the G1X offers three modes: Ultra-High-Speed, High-Speed, and Wide-Gamut. You pick the mode that matches the job, whether that is a short-run mug order or a color-critical figurine.

Build volume and materials

The standard flatbed measures 420 x 330 x 130 mm. A mini flatbed swaps in for cylindrical objects up to 245 mm tall, which covers mugs, tumblers, and bottles. The machine works on more than 400 substrates, including wood, leather, glass, metal, acrylic, and ceramic. Water-soluble supports dissolve without tools, which simplifies post-processing on complex geometries.

Full-color 3D printing uses a resin-based process with layer thickness between 10 and 20 micrometers. Transparent and colored sections can print in the same build. The rollerless design is meant to improve structural precision by removing a common failure point in resin-based inkjet systems.

Software and maintenance

Blueprint Studio handles model preparation and batch layout. HeyVerse adds AI-powered text-to-3D and image-to-3D generation. A LiDAR sensor in the print carriage monitors layer thickness in real time to within 0.01 mm. Printhead maintenance is handled by a quad-layer anti-clogging system that agitates white ink and seals the printhead during downtime. Built-in air filtration captures ink mist and VOCs.

Pricing and availability

The G1X Full-3D Pack is $3,599 during the Kickstarter early-backer period, down from a $5,499 MSRP. The Starter Pack sits at $1,699. Shipping is expected to begin in 2026, with customs fees and VAT covered for major regions. The 500-plus backers who already reserved units get access to these prices before the public launch.
