After years of Multi Jet Fusion, HP launched its first industrial FFF printer, targeting high-temperature materials like PEEK and PEI for aerospace and automotive part.
A new direction for HP
HP released its first fused filament fabrication machine, the Industrial Filament 3D Printer 600 HT. The move breaks from more than a decade of Multi Jet Fusion powder bed systems. HP says the platform is built for aerospace, automotive, and defense parts printed from reinforced thermoplastics.
What the 600 HT does
The printer uses a heated chamber and extruder rated for high-temperature materials. PEEK, PEI, and carbon-fiber reinforced nylons are the target materials. HP positioned the machine against other industrial FFF systems that struggle with consistent layer adhesion at elevated temperatures.
The built-in touchscreen lets operators monitor temperatures, material flow, and layer integrity without external software.
Why it matters
HP already dominates industrial powder bed printing through MJF. Adding a filament platform means customers can buy both technologies from the same vendor. That consolidation matters for production teams that run multiple processes.
The system joins a crowded industrial FFF field that includes Markforged, Raise3D, and Titan. HP's brand reach and service network give it an edge, but the software and workflow questions that slowed MJF adoption are still open.
