Lohia Aerospace will spend $8-10 million to install Massivit large-format 3D printers in Kanpur, cutting aerospace composite tooling time by 90 percent.

Lohia Aerospace Systems signed a memorandum of understanding with Israel-based Massivit to bring large-format additive manufacturing to India for the first time. The partnership places Massivit's 3D printing platform inside Lohia's Kanpur facility, where it will produce composite moulds and production tools for aerospace and defence customers.

The company plans to invest $8-10 million over the next two years. That funding covers eight to ten Massivit printers, staffing, and finishing capabilities. Each printer can produce one to two complete tool sets per day, replacing a process that traditionally took weeks. The company says tooling production time drops by as much as 90 percent.

The investment aligns with India's Make in India programme. Lohia Aerospace already operates an 80,000 square foot plant in Kanpur and is building a new 250,000 square foot facility alongside it. The 3D printing operation will run inside that expanded footprint, creating 60 to 100 skilled jobs in operations, quality control, and finishing.

Lohia Aerospace will have exclusive rights to offer the technology to India's aerospace and defence sector, including programmes for unmanned aerial vehicles and manned aircraft. The company's ISO 9001, AS9100D, and NADCAP certifications cover the new additive manufacturing business.

Ziki Kuly, Chief Business Officer at Massivit, said the partnership helps scale local production of mission-critical aerospace tooling for a rapidly growing market. Anurag Lohia, Chairman and Managing Director of Lohia Aerospace Systems, said the alliance reduces dependence on imported tooling while speeding up delivery for domestic and international customers.
