A Yorkshire print farm now prices uploaded STL and 3MF files in around twenty seconds, no account required, and keeps the designer's original slicer settings intact.

Makr3D, the fulfillment platform built on Yorkshire3D's Bambu print farm in Huddersfield, has opened its instant quoting tool to the public without requiring a login. Upload an STL or Bambu/Orca 3MF file and you receive a price, shipping cost and dispatch estimate in roughly twenty seconds.

Real slice, not an estimate

Most instant-quote engines calculate from a fixed profile. Makr3D actually re-slices every uploaded file in headless Bambu Studio and reads the real print time, filament use, support weight, plate count and colour count from the result. Multi-colour jobs are a special case: purge waste is still routed to a human reviewer because the automated AMS pricing is not reliable enough to run unsupervised. Files with baked-in G-code or ambiguous geometry also go manual.

Faithful 3MF mode

Most print farms re-slice with their own house profile, throwing away the designer's orientation, supports and per-object settings. Makr3D defaults to what it calls Faithful 3MF mode. The platform prints the file as submitted and generates a SHA-256 fingerprint from the file hash, material code and toolpath-affecting settings. Once a geometry and settings combination passes quality assurance, it enters a proven-print registry. Matching orders skip the pre-slice check that new geometry still undergoes.

What it means for sellers

Makr3D launched at the end of June 2026 with AI-assisted Print Intelligence, an agentic pre-production inspector that measures uploaded models, reviews geometry and overhangs, and runs Bambu slices against production settings before a human reviews each order. The platform remains in a founding-seller stage, inviting creators, Etsy and Shopify sellers and small brands to test it. Sellers can fulfil under their own brand or publish designs to a catalogue and earn royalties per unit sold.

The bet here is that small-batch print-on-demand depends as much on preserving the designer's original production intent as it does on speed. That is a narrower claim than ProtoSoon's engineering feedback or DigiFabster's cross-process RFQ automation, but it is a real problem for anyone who has handed a carefully tuned 3MF to a farm and watched it get overridden.
