Meltio now assembles its Robot Cell in the USA, cutting customs delays and tailoring the system for American industrial customers.

A US-Based Alternative to Importing Metal AM Systems

Meltio has started assembling its Robot Cell in the United States. The move removes the long shipping times and customs complications that come with importing the system from Spain. The company says the US-assembled version also meets specific industrial requirements for the American market.

The Robot Cell pairs Meltio's metal 3D printing head with ABB robotic arms on a self-supporting platform inside a laser-safe enclosure. It includes the Meltio Engine, Meltio Space software, and all necessary accessories. Customers only need to connect inert gas and electricity to start producing metal parts.

Alejandro Nieto, Meltio Product Manager, said the system is designed for manufacturers who need metal parts at the point of need without waiting for overseas delivery or assembly. The company sees this as a direct response to system integrators and industrial customers who want a standardized solution for robotic metal additive manufacturing.

The launch puts Meltio in closer competition with established industrial metal AM providers that already have North American assembly and support footprints. For buyers, local assembly usually means shorter lead times, easier service, and fewer border headaches.
