Prusa CORE One+ INDX Kits Are Shipping, Complete Printers Now Available

Prusa Research has moved the INDX automatic tool-changing system from preview to purchase. The first batch of standard INDX conversion kits for the CORE One and CORE One+ is now leaving the factory. At the same time, the company is selling complete CORE One+ (Gen 2) printers with INDX already installed, either assembled or as a kit, in 4-tool or 8-tool configurations.

What changes with INDX on the CORE One+

The INDX system lets the printer switch between filaments, colors, or nozzle sizes mid-print without manual intervention. For the CORE One+, Prusa optimized the hardware around the toolchanger. The Gen 2 version gets an improved heatbed mounting system that reduces wait time before the first layer starts. It also inherits the nozzle wiper and GT1.5 belts from the recent refresh.

Upgrade path for existing owners

If you already own a CORE One or CORE One+, you can buy a conversion kit. Prusa reopened orders after the first batch sold out. There are separate kits for the original CORE One+ and the Gen 2 model, so double-check your printer version before ordering. CORE One L+ owners are next in line: Prusa is testing INDX on that platform and building pre-production units for broader testing.

The nozzle situation

INDX kits still ship with Bondtech nozzles that are nitrocarburized rather than fully hardened. Prusa has extended the return window to 60 days and will add unspecified extra hardware at its own cost for early buyers. If you plan to run abrasive filaments such as glow-in-the-dark PLA, the current nozzles will wear through the coating faster than a true hardened steel nozzle. Non-abrasive materials such as PLA, PETG, and TPU are unaffected.

Pricing and availability

Complete CORE One+ (Gen 2) with INDX start at the same price points as the standard printer, with the toolchanger included. Kits are available in assembled or DIY form. Conversion kits for existing CORE One owners are open for order now. The HT Hotend for high-temperature engineering materials is scheduled for September.

This is the first time INDX has been offered as a factory-installed option on a Prusa desktop printer. Buyers get the full warranty and support path that comes with a complete machine, rather than piecing together an upgrade themselves.
