Stratasys Direct selected for DoW JAMA IV Pilot Parts Program to qualify and deploy 3D printed parts across military platforms.
The U.S. Department of War has selected Stratasys Direct to participate in its Joint Additive Manufacturing Acceptability (JAMA) IV Pilot Parts Program, marking a significant expansion of the company's role in defense manufacturing.
What is JAMA?
The JAMA Pilot Parts Program is designed to accelerate the adoption of 3D printed parts across the Department of War's sustainment operations. It establishes repeatable technical qualifications and procurement pathways for additively manufactured components, strengthening supply chain resilience and addressing obsolescence issues.
According to Stratasys, DoW budget programs are increasingly referencing additive manufacturing, with funding rising 83% to $3.3 billion in fiscal year 2026 compared to fiscal year 2025.
Stratasys Defense Track Record
Stratasys Direct already ships over 100,000 parts annually to the defense industry. The company has delivered significant volumes of printers to U.S. defense manufacturers and suppliers.
The U.S. Air Force is using Stratasys technology throughout its C-17 fleet to produce microvanes that improve aerodynamic efficiency, helping save an estimated $14 million in annual fuel costs. The Air Force also uses 3D printed replacement components that meaningfully reduce lead times.
"In 2025, Stratasys saw double-digit annual revenue growth from aerospace and defence, demonstrating that additive manufacturing is becoming a key capability for defence sustainment and supply chain resilience," said Foster Ferguson, Vice President, Industrial Business Unit, Stratasys.
Growing Defense Market
This contract adds to Stratasys' growing defense portfolio. The company has been steadily expanding its presence in military applications, with the JAMA program representing a formal pathway for broader adoption across all service branches.
The program aims to support readiness requirements across the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Space Force.
