Stratasys Expands 12-Year Prosthetics Partnership With Limbitless Solutions

A 12-Year Collaboration Expands

Stratasys and Limbitless Solutions have deepened a partnership that began in 2014. The expanded agreement adds sustainability and education targets to the core mission of delivering 3D-printed prosthetic devices to children.

Limbitless, based at the University of Central Florida, uses Stratasys additive manufacturing systems to produce end-use prosthetic components, thermoformed cosmetic covers, and rapid-prototype parts. Hundreds of children across the United States and beyond have received devices through the program.

Certified Pre-Owned Printer Donation

The latest step in the partnership is a donated Stratasys Certified Pre-Owned F370 printer. Stratasys refurbishes and recertifies returned equipment through its CPO program, then redeploys it to extend the machine's useful life. The F370 will support ongoing operations, student training, and community outreach at the Limbitless lab.

Rosa Coblens, VP of Sustainability and Communications at Stratasys, said the donation reflects the company's focus on circular manufacturing. By reconditioning equipment instead of scrapping it, Stratasys reduces waste while helping purpose-driven organizations reach more people.

Student Engineering and STEAM Education

The dedicated Limbitless lab at UCF houses multiple Stratasys systems. Students use the lab to gain hands-on experience with 3D printing while working on real assistive-technology projects. Albert Manero, executive director and co-founder of Limbitless, said the partnership shows how additive manufacturing can create tangible impact for both the children served and the next generation of engineers.

The expanded partnership does not change Limbitless's day-to-day operations. It does add formal goals around access, education, and equipment reuse that will shape how both organizations measure success going forward.
