The TinyMaker MSLA resin printer draws just 6 watts, weighs 600 grams, and fits in a bag, making it one of the most portable 3D printers you can actually buy.
The TinyMaker resin printer does something most MSLA machines cannot do: it leaves the room. The whole unit measures 100 x 115 x 155 mm, weighs 600 grams, and draws just 6 watts from a standard USB-C power bank. That is a genuinely useful twist in a market where resin printers typically demand a permanent corner of a desk, a vent, and an outlet nobody minds losing for days.
Specs and Build Volume
TinyMaker uses an LCD-based MSLA process with a 240 x 320 pixel screen. Layer heights run at 0.05 mm or 0.1 mm, depending on whether speed or detail matters more for a given print. The build volume is 30.6 x 40.8 x 60 mm. That is small, and it is worth saying plainly: this is not a machine for full-scale miniatures or large props. It is built for jewelry masters, small mechanical parts, and miniatures that fit in the palm of a hand.
The printer accepts any 405nm resin, including castable, water-washable, and translucent formulas. The build plate is full metal and levels by loosening a single screw, then lowering the plate to the vat and tightening it back down. Files load from a microSD card, and the slicer of choice is Chitubox or PrusaSlicer, both available on Windows, Mac, and Linux.
Open Source and Portable by Design
TinyMaker describes itself as open source, with firmware, schematics, and design files shared publicly. The original Kickstarter campaign in 2022 drew 1,671 backers and roughly $204,000 in a single month. The project has since shifted to Indiegogo's pledge manager, where it has raised more than $875,000 from over 5,700 backers across 60-plus countries. Batch 1 is delivered, Batch 2 has shipped, and Batch 3 is in production as of an August 2026 update.
The leakproof resin tank cover is one of the smarter details. Resin printers smell and spill; the gasketed lid on the TinyMaker is designed to cut both. Combined with the 6-watt draw, the printer becomes something you can run at a conference table, in a dorm room, or on a trail without a wall outlet nearby.
Pricing and Availability
TinyMaker's Indiegogo listing charges in Hong Kong dollars, but the effective USD tiers are straightforward. The base printer alone costs $129. The Creator Combo at $149 adds the basics for cleaning and curing. The Premium Combo at $169 includes a purpose-built Go Bag and is marked as the most popular tier. Batch 3 is still in production, and TinyMaker's August 2026 update says several more months of work remain, with some reward listings estimating October 2026 delivery for the current run.
Where It Fits
The portable resin printer space is thin. Most MSLA machines are built to stay put. The TinyMaker does not break speed or resolution records, but it does not try to. It trades build size and raw throughput for portability, open source hardware, and a price under $200. If you want to print miniatures at a game night, make small parts at a hackathon, or bring resin printing to a workshop without hauling a full rig, the TinyMaker is the only machine currently shipping that fits the bill.
